Dean John-Wilson and Jade McEwan, the two leads have given good vocal performance. The flying carpet in the duet song ‘A Whole New World’ simple upstages and mesmerizes the viewers. But, the real part goes to the role of Genie, which is really unnerving for any actor. The legendary vocals by Robin Williams for Genie have immortalised both of them. It is tough to visualise Genie without Williams.
But, Trevor Dion Nelson has done a remarkable job as a Genie, as he is quite successful in making this particular character his own. He is simply remarkable since the opening of the show and ‘Friend Like Me’ is simply hummable. Other highlights of the show are Aladdin’s friends Babkak, Omar and Kassim and their one-liners. However, the new song, ‘Proud of Your Boy’ does not match in this wonderful show.
