Theatre. The opulent
theatre has occupancy of 2208 and is regarded as one of the largest theatres in
London. Theatre
has been categorized chiefly into two levels. They are the stalls and the
circle. Stalls are positioned on the Ground floor of the auditorium and offers
excellent view of the stage and more expensive than Circle.
Apollo Victoria
Theatre is positioned at
an accessible location. It is situated opposite the Victoria Railway Station on
Wilton Road.

and Hyde Park. Various modes of commutations

infra red system. The stunning theatre marked its opening in the year 1929 as a
state of the art cinema for the accommodation of the immensely growing
popularity of talking pictures.
Architect Ernest Walmsley Lewis
designed the theatre in an Art Deco style and has been retained till date. The
building marked its opening as the New
Victoria Cinema
and has been called by this name till 1975. It was closed and was reopened with
the name of New Victoria Theatre.
With the headlining act of Shirley Bassey, a concert was scheduled for the
opening of this venue.
Apollo Victoria
Theatre hosted several
musicals such as The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof and Andrew Lloyd
Webber’s Starlight Express which ran till 2002, i.e. for 18 years and was
remarkable success. The next big thing happened at Apollo Victoria
Theatre is the
commercially and critically acclaimed Wicked the Musical which still rules
millions of hearts!
