William Shakespeare’s classic rom-com, Much Ado About Nothing is all set to make its arrival this winter at Theatre Royal Haymarket. This is one of the most frequently performed shows and has enjoyed great success at Stratford-upon-Avon and Chichester Festival tour. The story is set at the end of World War II, where most of the actions are being taken place at the post war house party.

The backdrop is perfect for setting up the atmosphere for romance, as spirits are quite high with memories of battle going to vanish away soon. The story of Much Ado About Nothing revolves around two soldiers who are courting two women named as Hero and Beatrice. The happiness of these lovey-dovey couples is being threatened by the scheming Don John. The major objective of Don is to deceive Claudio by destroying his chances to wed Hero.

Much Ado About Nothing has number of twists and turns, where the theatre lovers will always have gripping experience that whether or not the couples will unite by the end of the play. Under the superb direction of Christopher Luscombe, Much Ado About Nothing is a complete delightful experience. His directing credit comprises of innumerable plays at Shakespeare’s Globe such as Nell Gwynn and later transferred to the Apollo Theatre.

 A 22-strong ensemble featuring Edward Bennett playing Benedick and Lisa Dillon as Beatrice makes the show a worthwhile experience. The classic saga of love and deception is a must watch at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. If you are ardent fan of Shakespeare then you must enjoy Luscombe’s production of Love’s Labour’s Lost as well. The two hours and forty minutes show is not recommended for young children.

Much Ado About Nothing is aimed for people of all age groups especially who are familiar with Shakespeare’s style of writing. They will enjoy the most out of this play and will be an outstanding theatrical experience for theatre lovers.
