The mesmerizing Broadway blockbuster Memphis is all set to make a debut at the Shaftesbury Theatre from this October. The stunning is the winner of four Tony Awards which comprises of Best Musical. The hugely anticipated London show will star diva Beverly Knight. The two hours and thirty minutes show is ideal for the lovers of rock and roll, soul music and those who love live shows!

The brand new London shows, Memphis is inspired by a real life story of disc jockey Dewey Phillips. He was one of the leading white DJ’s who use to play black music on the radio. The show is set during 50s in Segregated Memphis Tennessee which is on the edge of civil rights movement. The lead protagonist Huey Calhoun, an aspiring white DJ who loves rock and roll music works in an underground dance club. He falls for Felicia Farrell, an immensely talented black singer who is looking for a big break!

He wants to play soul music which he really likes on air waves. On the other hand, Felicia aspires to be a star. When both of them come together for her music to be heard by the world love and lots of things happen.

The brand new London show, Memphis features some of the catchy soundtracks like “The Music of My Soul” “Ain’t Nothing but a Kiss” and “Love Will Stand When All Else Fails”. The show features some great music and lyrics by David Bryan, who is the founding member of Bon Jovi.

The blockbuster show Memphis ran for almost three years on Broadway and now get set to be hosted at Shaftesbury Theatre! The magnificent London show is ideal for people of all age groups and kids for ages 12 and up.
